Panola County has re-instated a burn ban for the county after little rain has fallen over the last few weeks.
“At 8 o’clock this morning I did issue an emergency burn ban order prohibiting outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Panola County. It’s good for seven days. We will revisit the issue at our Commissioners Court Meeting on Monday, Sept. 28th. Thank you for not burning,” Jones said.
That means it is now illegal to burn trash, leaves, garbage or anything else outdoors. The fine if caught violating the burn ban is $500.
